The premiere performance was given at The Stoller Hall by William Chang in December 2020.
I wrote this piece to evoke three childhood memories of spring while living by the North Devon coast. The first depicts water dripping from garden leaves into pools on the stones below. The second portrays the distant sound of waves on the rainy beach down the road. The third recalls the first storm I witnessed — the awe I felt watching the ferocity of nature through a rain-covered window in the dark. As the rain lightened and slowed, everything returned to stillness.
