The 24 - Howells' Requiem

Brinsley sang with The 24 in the choir’s spring concert in the Sir Jack Lyons Concert Hall, conducted by Robert Hollingworth. The programme ranged from Brahms’ double-choir Fest- und Gedenksprüche and Gombert’s Renaissance chanson to recent music by Joanna Marsh, Reena Esmail and Bernard Hughes, and ended with Howells’ Requiem, whose solos were taken by singers from the choir.1

In the weeks beforehand the choir shared clips of itself rehearsing the crunchier chords of the Howells, and YorkConcerts billed the evening around the double-choir textures of the Howells and the Brahms.
