The 24 - A Final Flourish

Brinsley took part in The 24’s summer concert in the Sir Jack Lyons Concert Hall, the choir’s last of the 2022/23 season and a programme chosen in part by the singers themselves. Robert Hollingworth conducted, with guests John Potter (tenor), Jacob Heringman (lute and guitar) and William Campbell (organ).

The evening centred on the little-known music of Peter Pope, in solo and choral settings of Donne, Shakespeare and Vaughan, alongside Byrd and Weelkes in their anniversary year, Poulenc’s wintry Un soir de neige and Walton’s choral cantata The Twelve.1
