Brinsley took part in this performance of Bach’s Mass in B minor in the Sir Jack Lyons Concert Hall, in which The 24, expanded to thirty-five singers, was joined by the period instruments of Manchester Baroque and soloists from I Fagiolini, conducted by Robert Hollingworth. The performance was repeated in Manchester Cathedral two days later.1

The concert was “deservedly a sell-out”. The review found “a great deal to admire” and “plenty of sparkle”, noting that the choir sang the first half from memory: “an impressive feat of memory that kept the choruses crisp”.2
